In the highly competitive world of hip-hop musical entertainment and production, the search for hip-hop artists by major record labels requires active communication between those record labels and the artists. This is a process that requires active participation in the industry with examples of difficulties evident in the waxing and waning trends of labels and their representative artists producing albums.
A list of the top five major record labels that have been active recently with new hip hop artists has been compiled to act as a guide to which record labels are most active in the recording industry currently. EST 19XX, the production company of Machine Gun Kelly, a rapper from Houston, Texas recently signed a Cleveland rapper named Ray Jr. Another recent addition to hip hop is artist Big K.R.I.T., a Mississippi rapper who saw recent success from his mixtape “Return of 4Eva” and was recently signed by Def Jam and Cinematic Music Group. Bad Boy and Interscope Records also recently signed a Morocco born rapper who now hails from The Bronx, New York. RCA, a prolific recording company, recently signed Los Angeles based rapper, Kid Ink whose debut album under that same label made number twenty seven on the Billboard 200.
Another recently active label seeking artists is Chinga Chang Records, a New York production company who recently made headlines by offering former Nickelodeon actress Amanda Bynes, whose media attention drawing recent antics have brought her renewed spotlight, a record deal.
